Great Summer Vibes At Dunes Beach Restaurant
We came across Dunes Beach Restaurant on the first Sunny Sunday of Spring this year. After months of rain and cold conditions, we wanted to enjoy a nice family meal close to the sea.
Our search led us to a restaurant in Hout Bay, situated on the beachfront.
Bonus – it had a play area!
When we called to make a booking earlier that morning, we were told that all outside tables were booked but a table was available inside. Luckily, they received a cancellation and they reserved a spot for us outside which was a nice gesture.
We were, however, not close to the play area, so note to self for future bookings: Book at least a week in advance to get a table near the play area!
Before, during and after our meal we strolled on the beach just across the road which was so refreshing. That was something my family enjoyed most.
The food was top class. The adult food menu is quite extensive – sushi, seafood and Dad’s can have their steaks too! The kiddies menu also has a fair selection – the kids thoroughly enjoyed their meal, especially the fries (which they usually leave for last).
The drinks menu caters for the whole family, I could enjoy a glass of bubbly and the hubby could enjoy a cold one. The kids’ milkshakes tasted really good but the glasses it was served in was a tad bit too big for them… but no biggy 🙂
Good food, drinks and relaxing vibe! It’s the perfect spot for Summer.
Baby changing facilities are also available.
